Unique House in Essaouira
Unique Architect's House

A Holiday To Remember

Beautiful architectural house to relax near the beach on the World Heritage site in Essaouira

With pleasant summer temperatures. A unique blend of Berber and European design, flooded with light.

The unique architecture is a mixture of Berber and European design concepts: The rooms, stairs, garden, inner courtyard/patio and terrace are in a horizontal and vertical position and create an atmosphere generously flooded with light, even with monumental impressions. With daylight, fresh air, sun and wind, this place always creates the feeling of being outdoors and at the same time of being protected indoors. Through this straightforward design, accomplished by the colours and original pieces of art, the beauty of this place offers a break from everyday life. In a few minutes it will bring you the feeling of being alone with the sun and the wind.

At the heart of the house lies a 10 × 4.5m pool, framed by a sun-warmed stone terrace and a bold modern pergola offering shade when you need it. Olive and eucalyptus trees, ornamental grasses and a traditional dry-stone wall enclose the garden, blending Berber simplicity with quiet, contemporary elegance — the perfect place to swim, sunbathe, or simply do nothing at all.

In contrast, you will fall in love with the vibrant city of Essaouira, with its cafes, restaurants, galleries, souks, fish markets, the harbour, the beach, and, and, and…

There is much more to discover, if you like: The nature with its beautiful mountains, small villages, the Berber markets, the endless Atlantic coast, the art of making argan oil, and, and, and…

So, just enjoy the real Morocco and breath in the special charm of living here.

Something else…

La femme de ménage cooks on request, does the daily washing up, cleans the beds, opens the shutters to the garden in the morning if you like, etc.

Wood for the two fireplaces is always available.

If you want to listen to Eric Clapton or Mozart – no problem, the music system works.

The Architect

The house was a result of a collaboration between two German university friends, the glass designer Horst Tüselmann and Professor Dr. Wolfgang Meisenheimer.
